Gold Jewellery

champagne diamond ring in white goldWe have been focusing to extend our white gold jewellery range. The workshop has been extremely busy and the results are stunning. We mainly created new ring designs that are now on display in Kalk Bay and some of them in our online shop. We get very few requests for yellow gold designs hence we have few pieces on display but obviously we can make up any design in yellow gold as well.

Mokume Gane

Monday, November 5th, 2007

Mokume-gane in short is a mixed-metal laminate with distinctive layered patterns.

Literally translating as “wood eye metal”, the name was borrowed from one type of pattern created in the forging of swords and other edged weapons, traditionally in Japan. Mokume was invented by Denbei Shoami, a 17th century master metalsmith from the Akita prefecture, who used it for the adornment of samurai swords.

Currently we are busy exploring the options of this fascinating technique. A small range of Mokume Gane rings and bracelets in silver is on display in our store in Kalk Bay.

We are busy adding a selection of Mokume Gane rings in gold which should be an interesting option for engagement rings or wedding bands.

Edit: By now we have added a nice mokume gane range to our collection and you can find more information under http://www.anpa.co.za/mokume_gane.html

Upper Arm Bangles

Friday, October 5th, 2007

There have been quite a few requests for upper arm bangles, especially for the up-coming summer season. We just completed a small range of upper arm bangles. They are not on display yet, but can be viewed on request in our shop in Kalk Bay.
